(El Centro Police Department announces their next DUI Checkpoint.)...It has been scheduled for this Saturday.
The Department says the checkpoint will be set up at Dogwood Road and Dannenberg Drive. It will be in operation from 6 pm Saturday to 2 am Sunday morning. They say DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving related crashes. Drivers are reminded impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over the counter drugs may interfere with driving. They say while medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is not legal.
