The California Mid-Winter Fair is heading into the second weekend of fun.

With moderate temperatures and significantly decreased wind there should be an opportunity to take advantage of the fun, food and entertainment at this year's event. On Friday, the gates open at 5:00 p.m. with The Newton Show, a tribute to Olivia Newton John on the Mechanics Bank Center Stage at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, the gates open at Noon and there will be entertainment at the various stages throughout the fairgrounds including a Demolition Derby on the track in front of the Grandstands at 6:00 p.m. At 8:00 p.m. it's the Red Hot Tribute, featuring the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, on the Mechanics Bank Center Stage. The gates open at Noon on Sunday and the day will feature a Salute to Mexico throughout the grounds all day.

The carnival and midway are expected to be in full operation throughout the weekend.
