(A 4 alarm brush fire started Sunday)...The fire was first reported at around 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

It was located near Derrick Road and West Campbell Road, South of Interstate 8 and near Centinella State Prison. County fire responded to the brush fire. They quickly called in assistance. Fire Departments from Holtville, NAF, Centinella State Prison, Calexico and El Centro responded. The fire burned about 20 acres of riverbottom before it was brought 100 percent under control. Officials say only brush was damaged, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
