(Reorganization took a turn)....The Holtville City Council met Monday.

Part of the meeting was to swear in the newly elected members, and reorganize. Murray Anderson, Michael Pacheco and Vanessa Ramirez took the oath of office, after having been elected during the November General Election. When it came time to choose a new Mayor, the nomination for Mayor Pro-Tem John Munger did not get a second, and the motion died. Munger was surprised. It turned out the council wanted Councilman Mike Goodsell to serve as Mayor. The current Mayor Anderson turned the gavel over to Goodsell and explained to Munger that he did not have the support of the rest of the council. He said because of past actions, the council  did not feel he he represented the good of the city.. Pacheco was named Mayor Pro-Tem.
