(45th Annual farmworkers Breakfast)....It was held Friday in Calexico.

It is estimated that over 2500 farmworkers attended the annual event. The event started 45 years ago saying thank you to the farm workers and offering them sweet bread and coffee. That has evolved into a full breakfast of tamales, beans, sweet bread and coffee, and includes music and other entertainment. This years event was organized by the Employment Development Department, the Center for Employment Training, the Mexican Consulate in Calexico and several other sponsors. Several volunteers served breakfast to the farmworkers, including political dignitaries. It is Imperial Counties annual thank you to the farm workers for doing what they do.
