The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors agreed to approve a budget amendment to fund grower payments through its on-farm conservation program. Tina Shields, Water Department Manager, said the budget amendment was for $26 million to supplement the 2024 on-farm program. She said the request is the remaining balance of what they estimate is owed to the growers for that 2024 conservation. Also, she said, the 2025 Deficit Irrigation Program, they have had their first field start to roll out of that program, have commenced the verification process and they would like to start issuing checks. She said they were requesting approximately $64 million for that. The recommendations were approved unanimously
