(The Naval Air Facility El Centro hosted their Parade of Lights)...It was held Friday night at the Navy Air Facility.

It is traditionally the first holiday parade of the season in Imperial County. The Friday event was considered a big success according to several sources. They say 2500 attended the event. That is the largest number in memory.. Several awards were announced following the parade. The Captains Trophy went to the Heber Hawks. The Executive Officer's choice went to Navy Gateway Inns and Suites. The Base Master Chief award went to the Drifters Car Club. The Peoples Choice was Calexico Martial Arts Academy, featuring the Dragon Dancers. The Honorable Mention went to the Imperial Valley Girl Scouts.
