(45th Annual event)...It is the Farmworkers Appreciation Breakfast. It will be held Friday.

The event will run from 1 to 5 am. Organizers will set up at America's Job Center of California 301 Heber Avenue in Calexico. It is Imperial County's way of saying thank you to the many hard working farmworkers. The event began 45 years ago serving sweet bread and coffee. It has evolved into a full breakfast of tamales, beans, salsa, sweet bread and coffee. It is expected to serve over 2500 farmworkers on their way to work. The event is organized by the Employment Development Department of Imperial County. Sponors include the Center For Employment Training, The City of Calexico,, The Mexican Consulate in Calexico, and the Farm Worker Services Coalition of Imperial County. The event is also sponsored by the local agricultural industry, farmers, and contractors, as well as local businesses, agencies and community based organizations.
