Brawley Police are investigating a fatal hit and run accident.

Officers responded to the intersection of Western Avenue and J Street at about 7:00 p.m. Monday. Initial reports were that a traffic accident involving a pedestrian had occurred. Arriving officers located an older woman with what were described as severe injuries. The woman was transported to the hospital where she died. The driver of the car involved in the collision fled the scene. The suspect vehicle is described a dark-colored Dodge Charger driven by a white, male adult. There will be damage to the windshield and a missing driver's side mirror.  Brawley Police are asking that anyone with any information regarding the incident contact the Brawley Police Department.
