A program that combines literacy and outdoor activity attracted over 50 participants.

The El Centro Public Library hosted a StoryWalk event Tuesday. Fifty-one participants joined in the fun. StoryWalk features pages from a children's book displayed along a walking path, allowing participants to read as they walk. The program is designed to encourage physical activity while fostering a love of reading. El Centro Library Director Carla Mason said, " We are thrilled with the community's response to our StoryWalk event. It's wonderful to see families enjoying reading together in the great outdoors". At the end of the walk, participants were treated to free books provided by the library.
