Separate seizures in Calexico yielded 114 pounds of fentanyl pills and more than 630 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

The first seizure occurred on Friday, October 25, at the Calexico West Port of Entry. A 26-year-old man was referred to secondary inspection where non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies in the car. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection K-9 team alerted to the vehicle and further inspection led to the discovery of 114 pounds of fentanyl hidden in the car's fender and bumper. 

On Sunday, October 27, at the Calexico West Port of Entry, an 18-year-old man was referred to secondary inspection for further examination. Non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies in the car. CBP officers were able to locate packages containing 636 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.

Both subjects were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
