U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers made another big seizure of fentanyl at the downtown Calexico port of entry.
Last Wednesday shortly after 10:00 p.m. a 47-year-old man entered the port from Mexico. During an initial inspection, CBP officers found packages in the car's quarter panels. The driver was then sent to secondary inspection where non-intrusive technology identified anomalies in the vehicle and a K-9 Team alerted to the car. CBP officers found a total of 98 packages hidden in the quarter panels and head rests. The packages contained over 122 pounds of blue fentanyl pills. The driver was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
