(California Department of Motor Vehicles issues a statement)...They say the El Centro DMV Office is reopening.
It was closed on August 23rd for remediation. The DMV says the remediation is complete. The El Centro office will open Thursday morning at 8 am. The Department of Motor Vehicles is performing a thorough air quality test to ensure the environment meets stringent health and safety standards required for the staff and the public Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the reopening by applying for a REAL ID, which requires an office visit to complete the application, Starting May 7, 2025, the US Department of Homeland Security will require a valid passport or another federally approved document, like a REAL ID driver's license or identification card, to board flights within the United States and access secure federal facilities and military bases
