(Cal Fire releases Line Fire update)....It was released Wednesday morning.
The fire in San Bernardino County was first reported September 5th. It has since burned 34,659 acres. Cal Fire officials say it is only 14% contained. Evacuation orders were given due to an immediate threat to life. Two evacuation centers have been set up and one animal shelter. Road closures include Highway 38, Highway 18 and Highway 330. There are 3,179 personnel fighting the fire, including a strike team from Imperial County. They are using 22 helicopter, 386 engines. 63 dozers, and 28 water tenders. Officials confirm 3 injuries to fire personnel and civilians. An Imperial Valley Strike Team made up of firefighters and equipment from the Imperial County Fire Department, Holtville, Brawley and Westmorland Fire Departments has been deployed to the fire.
Authorities on Wednesday announced that there has been an arrest in the Line Fire. A 34-year-old Norco man was arrested on suspicion of starting the fire. A search warrant conducted at his home led to discovery of evidence that supported the arrest according to investigators.
