The Line Fire is burning in rugged terrain in San Bernardino County.
The fire, first reported on Thursday of last week, has burned nearly 26,000 acres and is threatening over 65,000 structures. The fire began near the San Bernardino County community of Highland. Evacuation orders have been issued for the communities of Running Springs and Arrowbear Lake, Forrest Hills, Mountain Home Village as well as all campgrounds and cabins in the area. CalFire officials have issued Evacuation Warnings for the communities of Green Valley Lake, Cedar Glen, Lake Arrowhead, Twin Peaks, Crestline and Valley of Enchantment.
Nearly 2,100 personnel have been assigned to the fire with 15 helicopters, 232 engines, 33 dozers, 15 water tenders as well as other equipment. There have been three firefighters injured but, so far, no structures have been destroyed.
A Strike Team from Imperial County has been deployed to the fire. The team is made up of firefighters and equipment from Imperial County Fire as well as Brawley, Holtville and Calipatria Fire Departments.
