(Brawley Police to set up a DUI checkpoint)....The Driving Under The Influence Checkpoint will be set up on September 6.
The checkpoint will run from 8 pm to 1 am at an undisclosed location. Police officials say DUI Checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving related crashes. They say the primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road. Brawley Police Chief Jimmy Duran says Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk. He said any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roads significantly improves traffic safety.
