(Jury finds Plancarte guilty)....Christian Osaac Plancarte was on trial for attempted murder of a police officer, attempted first degree residential burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.

An Imperial County Jury found him guilty of all charges. The County District Attorney's office says in February Calexico Police Sergeant Miguel Carbajal and Officer Alexander Hernandez responded to a residential burglary in progress. The police arrived to see the defendant breaking into the house through the front door. He was using a crowbar. The police ordered him to stop. In response the suspect violently charged at the Sergeant with the crowbar. Officer Hernandez used his firearm to stop the attack. Sentencing will be held October 2.
