(Calexico City Council considering a rate increase)....They have discussed increasing the water and sewer rates in the city.

A special meeting was held to discuss the issue this week. Several residents expressed concerns about the proposal. The proposal being considered would almost double the rates in the next 5 years. It was suggested the council postpone a decision in order to hold at least two town hall type meetings to take more public comments. It was agreed to postpone the decision and they agreed to revisit the issue later
