(Candidate Filing ended Wednesday)... The County elections department is waiting for some cities to update their candidate list for City Council races.

Most all City Council filing was extended to Wednesday August 14. The run-off races are ready for the ballot. The Race for County Board of Supervisors District 2 will feature Martha Cardenas Singh and Diahna Garcia Ruiz. The other run-off is for Imperial Irrigation District Division 4, featuring Javier Gonzalez and Lewis Pacheco. The City of El Centro has released their list of City Council candidates. They include Incumbents Sylvia Marroquin and Edgard Garcia running for re-election. They are being challenged by Jason Jackson, Bill Caldwell, Luis Minor, Antowain Rackley, John 'Marty' Ellett and Claudia M. Camarena. Councilmember Martha Cardenas Singh is running for County Supervisor.
