A Brawley woman died in an El Centro traffic accident Monday morning.

At about 8:00 a.m. El Centro Police officers responded to a traffic accident in the 1000 block of East Main Street. A small car and a semi-truck collided as the big rig was exiting a driveway and attempting to turn east onto Main Street. The small car was westbound on Main Street and collided with the truck. The car was trapped underneath the trailer of the semi. The driver of the car, a 29-year-old Brawley woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the big rig was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
