(Health Department releases Heat-Related Illness update).....The report indicates an increase in Heat Related illness this summer.

So far there have been 10 heat related deaths in Imperial County this summer. The number had been at 3 until the latest report. There have now been 9 cases of Heat Stroke. 49 cases of Heat Exhaustion, and 30 cases of heat fatigue or dehydration. The County Public Health Department compiles information for the Heat Related Illness report from information provided by El Centro Regional Medical Center, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District and the Imperial County Coroner's Office. This weekend, temperatures in Imperial County are expected between 113 and 116 degrees. Officials say exposure to high temperatures can cause health problems and even death.
