(Holtville City Council appoints a new City Council person).... The vacancy was created by the recent resignation of Ginger Ward.

Ward resigned from thee City Council because she was moving out of the area. The council met this week and interviewed the candidates seeking to fill the vacancy. When it was over, they chose a person with experience. They named Richard Layton, a former Citty Council member to fill the vacancy. Layton will serve out the remaining five months of Wards term.
