(Imperial County Public Health Department releases an update)....The update is on Heat Related Illness this summer.
The report indicates cases of heat related illness have increased. The cases have increased from 27 to 40. There have been 28 cases of heat exhaustion, and 12 cases of heat fatigue or dehydration. Nationally there have been 7 heat related deaths. In Imperial County there have been none. Mexicali has reported at least 3 heat related deaths. Imperial County information is provided by the El Centro Regional Medical Center, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District and the County Coroners Office. Public Heaalth says exposure to excessive heat can result in serious health issues.
