An Excessive Heat Warning will remain in effect through Friday night.

The National Weather Service says that temperatures in the Imperial Valley could hit 116 by Friday. Expect dangerously hot conditions with heat related illnesses  a danger through 8:00 p.m. Friday. You should take action to lessen the impact of the extreme heat. Stay indoors and seek air conditioned buildings. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and avoid dehydrating alcoholic, sugary, or caffeinated beverages. Monitor small children , friends and neighbors, especially the elderly.
