(Fatal injury collision early Sunday morning).....Yuma County Sheriffs received the call at 1:44 Sunday morning.

It was a single vehicle collision in the area of Avenue 5E and County 14th and a quarter Street. The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling North on the Avenue when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck several citrus trees. The driver was identified as 59 year old Joi Howell of Yuma. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident remains under investigation. Officials say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
