Yuma County Sheriff's deputies have made a second arrest in a June 6, 2024, murder investigation.

Fernando Malta, 34, of Somerton, Arizona, was arrested on Tuesday. The arrest of Malta is the second in the murder of 29-year-old Eric Cruz of Yuma. On June 11, 2024, Brittney Garcia, 30, 0f Somerton, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. Malta was booked at Yuma County Detention center on charges of First Degree Murder, Possession of a Weapon by a Prohibited Person, Attempted Arson, Evidence Tampering, and other charges.
