The Imperial County Teacher of the year has been named.
The Imperial County Office of Education (ICOE) has selected Francisco De La Rosa from the Heber Elementary School District Teacher of the Year. De La Rosa has been teaching in Heber for the past 8 years. Prior to that he taught at St. Mary's School in El Centro and for a short time with the El Centro School District. Mr. De La Rosa was born in Mexicali and grew up in Calexico. He graduated from Calexico High School, Imperial Valley College and San Diego State University- Imperial Valley campus. He obtained a master's Degree from Grand Canyon University. Currently, De La Rosa leads the Heber District participation in multiple county-wide academic events. He has been nominated for the upcoming 2025 California Teacher of the Year Program.
