A small car rearended a motorcycle early Thursday morning.

The accident occurred on westbound Interstate 8 east of Holtville at about 4:49 a.m. The motorcycle was apparently rear ended by a car. The motorcycle rider sustained undisclosed injuries in the accident. Westbound traffic on the freeway was blocked for a short time. The accident remains under investigation.
