(County Fire Acquires a Thermite Firefighting Robot RS3)...It is a state of the art robot designed to assist with emergency incidents.

It has a special focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems. Imperial County Fire Chief David Lantzer says the robot is a resource that will be available to all his department's partners in public service in the Imperial Valley. The Chief said it doesn't add to their initial ressponce capabilities, but it does provide them with a tool for long-duration incidents. Lantzer said he envisions the tool to be used not only for fires, but also at hazardous materials, technical rescue, and bomb mitigation incidents of long durations. Among the robot's capabilities include real time monitoring, precise manuevering in hazardous environments, and the ability to perform tasks that would be dangerous for human personnel
