The Southwest High School Health Science Center had a ribbon-cutting Thursday.

The California Surgeon General, Dr. Diana E. Ramos, was on-hand for the occasion. The Health Science Center is dedicated to serving students enrolled in the Career Technical Education: Health Science and Medical Technology courses at Southwest High School. The facility replicates a healthcare setting, providing students with hands on training and real-world experience. During her visit, Dr. Ramos spent time with students, inspiring them to strive for excellence and pursue their dreams in the healthcare profession. She encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the new Center.
