(The US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron trains in Imperial County)....The Blue Angels Winter Training at NAF El Centro has been going on for more than 50 years.
When they return in January they will have a new leader. At a recent press conference in Pensacola, Florida, where the squadron is home-based, there will be a new Commanding Officer in the 2025-2026 seasons. Commander Adam "Gilligan" Bryon will succeed Commander Alex Armatas and assume command following the end of the 2024 demonstration season in November. The Blue Angels traditionally arrive at NAF El Centro on January 3rd to begin their 90 days of training.
