A pedestrian was injured when struck by a car.

The accident occurred at about 6:24 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 186 near the Andrade Port of Entry. A woman was hit by the car and then the driver fled the scene. Imperial County Sheriff's deputies stopped the driver in Winterhaven. The victim was lifeflited from the scene to Desert Regional Medical Center by REACH Air Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation.
