(CBP Officers in the San Diego Field Office seize over $1.7 million in narcotics).....The San Diego Field Office covers all the Ports in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

The narcotics were seized in April in 12 separate incidents. The incidents involved suspected smugglers crossing through the Ports on foot. The narcotics were found concealed under their clothing. All the suspects ranged in age from 14 to 21 years of age. The officers seized 3.85 pounds of cocaine, 45.17 pounds of methamphetamine, and approximately 79,3-- Fentanyl pills. The total estimated street value came at $1,755, 500. All the suspects were arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations. The seizures were all part of Operation Apollo, which began in Southern California and has now expanded into Arizona.
