If you are going to celebrate Cinco de Mayo do so responsibly.
That's the word from the El Centro Police Department. ECPD Sergeant Adrian Chilpa said, " Don't put yourself and others on the road at risk by driving impaired. If you are planning to celebrate with a drink or two, leave your keys at home and designate a sober driver". And on Saturday the El Centro Police Department will have additional officers on patrol from 6:00 p.m. too 2:00 a.m., looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Funding for the program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety program.
