There will be a Calexico Council Candidate Forum.

Coming on the heels of the April Recall of two Calexico City Councilmembers, there will be a candidates forum on Thursday, May 2, 2024. The forum is being presented by Mujeres with Voice at the Calexico Women's Improvement Club on Heber Avenue. According to a press release from Mujeres with Voice, the forum was organized to uphold transparency in the select process of the two candidates that will be appointed to the unexpired terms of Raul Urena and Gilberto Manzanares. The forum will feature five candidates that have expressed interest in applying for the vacant seats. The forum is scheduled to be in English, with Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters, and will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. According to the sponsoring organization, the forum is not affiliated with the City of Calexico.
