(39 Year Old arrested in El Centro)....It happened early Friday afternoon.

El Centro Police officers were looking for a missing person. They were searching the area of 1900 North Imperial Officer. An Officer went into Planet Fitness looking for the missing person. In the business a man, identified later as 39 year old Roque Silva, approached the officer and started an arguement for no apparent reason. In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, the officer explained to Silva why he was there and then started to walk away. A nearby-by gym goer begain recording the incident with his phone. Silva turned his anger on the gym-goer, taking the phone from the gym-goer's hand. A physical altercation broke out. The officer intervened and tried to separate the two. Silva turned his attention to the officer and became physically aggressive. Less than lethel force was used to subdue Silva and he was placed under arrest. The 39 year old was charged with resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, and robbery. He was booked into County Jail. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
