(71-year-old dies in fatal hit and run)....It happened early Wednesday morning in Holtville.

A motorist called 911 after finding an elderly man lying in the street on East 5th Street and Chestnut Avenue. County Sheriff's Deputies, EMT's and Holtville Fire responded. Live saving measures were applied, but the victim did not revive. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred at around 5:30 Wednesday morning. The County Coroner's Office says they have identified the victim as 71-year-old Fidel Guzman from Holtville.  They say an official cause of death will not be determined until after an autopsy. The autopsy will probably be held early next week.
