(Brawley PD releases a statement on Social Media)....They will be conducting an enforcement operation.
It will focus on drivers suspected of violating the Hands-Free cell phone law. The release said the current law mandates that drivers are not allowed to hold a phone or electronic communications device while operating a vehicle, including talking, texting or using apps. Violations are punishable by a fine. A second violation within 36 months of a prior conviction for the same offense will add the violation to the driver's record.
