Two people were seriously injured in a single vehicle accident Sunday.

The accident happened on westbound Interstate 8 near Brock Research Center Road shortly after 2:00p .m. The vehicle apparently ran off the road and overturned. Two people were in the vehicle, one of them was trapped in the wreckage for a time.  One of the injured, a man,  was flown by Mercy Air to Desert Regional Center with major injuries. The other, a woman, also with major injuries, was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center. The accident remains under investigation.
