(Riot at the Ironwood State Prison)...200 prisoners rushed the Correctional Officers at the Blythe Facility.

Officials say it happened at around 10 Wednesday morning. Officers were escortingg a prisoners across the yard as part of a contraband investigation at Ironwood. Officials say the inmate headutted a staff member as he was being subdued. They say 200 prisoners rushed the officers, attacking them with fists and rocks. A warning shot was fired before officers used chemical agents and non-lethal impact rounds to control the melee. Eight officers and one inmate were in the incident. Movement was restricted at prisons across the state for 24 hours as officials conducted a routine threat assessment. The investigation into the Ironwood riot is on-going. Officers say, so far, 30 inmates have been identified as having direct involvement in the riot.
