(Initial Budget proposal contains a deficit)....The initial state budget proposal was released by the Governor.

Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia says he and the rest of the Assembly will be working to trim the deficit. Garcia says he will specifically work towards trimming the deficit, and save funds earmarked in the budget proposal for Imperial County. Specifically, the budget includes $65.2 million for the Salton Sea Management Program. The Salton Sea is also listed to receive some of the $400 million to address climate urgencies across the state. Garcia said he would be working to ensure those funds remained priorities in the spending plan.
