The Imperial Valley Healthcare District is ready to start the year with six board members.

The Valley-wide Healthcare District was established by AB 918 and has resulted in meetings with Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, Heffernan Memorial Healthcare District and El Centro Regional Medical Center to move a unified, county-wide healthcare system. Working meetings have included the CEO's and CFO's from both hospitals as well as the CEO of the Heffernan District. Topics have included earthquake retrofitting, finances, budget, consolidation of services and other compliance issues.

The six board members so far are:

Rodolfo Valdez representing the Heffernan Memorial Heathcare District.

Laura Goodsell, appointed by the Holtville City Council.

Enola Berker, selected by the Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District.

Arturo Proctor, representing the City of El Centro.

Katherine Burnworth, appointed by the Imperial City Council.

Donald W. Medart, representing the Quechan Indian Tribe. 

The Imperial County Board of Supervisors have not yet appointed a representative from the Ocotillo or Seeley area.
