(County Public Health Department announces two flu-related deaths)....The two individuals died from complications due to influenza.

They said the individuals were a young adult and a middle aged person. Both had underlying health conditions.. To proyect patient confidentiality, no other information is being released on the victims. County Health Officer Dr. Stephen Munday says it is important to remember flu season is not over. He said it was not too late to get a flu shot. He said all persons six months of age and older should receive a flu shot now, if they have not already received one. The Health Department says, to date, during the 2023-2024 winter respitory virus season, a total of 81 influenza associated deaths have been reported in California. Of those, 62 have been identified among people 65 years of age and older. Statewide, influenza activity is reported at a moderate level.
