(Coming up on the last holiday weekend of the year)....2023 wraps up this weekend. For many it is a three day weekend.

For others it will be a 4 day weekend. For the Imperial Irrigation District and most federal and state offices and agencies, it will be a 3 day weekend. Special traffic enforcement will be in affect through Monday night. The California Highway Patrol Maximum Enforcement Period begins Friday evening and ends at 11:59 Monday night. For local police, such as Brawley and El Centro, they have been in special patrol mode for the entire week. It is highly recommended that you don not drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. That includes offroad drivers. The dunes are monitored by the BLM and the California Highway Patrol.
