A magnitude 4.8 earthquake rattled the Imperial Valley late Tuesday evening.

According to the U. S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 11:43 p.m. with an epicenter about 7 miles east of Ocotillo. It was preceded by a 3.3 earthquake at 11:36 p.m. and followed b at least 10 other shakers., the biggest at magnitude 3.4 at 5:12 a.m. Friday.
