El Centro Police are investigating a Hit & Run traffic accident that seriously injured a 59-year-old man.

The accident occurred at 7:41 p.m. Saturday at 4th and Wake Streets. A truck pulling a white off-road truck on a trailer truck struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene. Witnesses said the truck was last seen going west from the site of the accident. A 59-year old man was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center and then flown by Mercy Air to the Trauma Center at Desert Regional Medical in the Palm Springs area for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
