(Thursday was Red Shoe Day)....It is the tenth year it has been held in Imperial County.

Officials say indications are, it may have been the most successful of all. Totals have not been released, but many said it felt good. Red Shoe Day is a day to collect funds for Ronald McDonald House in San Diego. The facility is a location for parents of children being treated in San Diego area hospitals can stay close to their family member. Volunteers were at almost every corner and intersection in Imperial County. Red Shoe Day is a big deal in Imperial County, because 25% of those who use Ronald McDonald House in San Diego are from Imperial County. Ronald McDonald himself made an appearance in El Centro and spoke to the media and visited with some of the volunteers. Numbers could be released sometime next week to indicate how much was donated this year.
