According to the latest information, there are now 115 active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial. That is up from the 101 cases reported Tuesday. Health officials warned of a summer surge of the virus. They attribute it to new variants. They do not, however, anticipate issuing any mask mandates. They suggest residents wear masks if that is what they want to do. They say the very young and those over 75 are most at risk. The State COVID 19 Tier Metrics indicate there are 2.80 new cases per day per 100,000 population, with a positivity rate of 12.6%. Deaths attributed to the virus remain at 985.
