(Unemployment Rate released recently)....The latest numbers are for June.

The numbers are released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. According to the new numbers, June unemployment for Imperial County was at 16.9%. That is slightly up from the 16.3% released in May, and above the year ago estimate of 13.8%. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.9% for California and 3.8% for the nation during the same period. The new numbers indicate there were 11,900 unemployed in Imperial County out of a Labor Force of 70,700. In June, Imperial County recorded the highest unemployment rate in the state.
