The Excessive Heat Warning for Imperial and Yuma Valleys has been extended, again.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), expect temperatures of 115 and above through next week. A strong subtropical ridge will continue to dominate the Desert Southwest allowing near record to record temperatures. The Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect through Wednesday. The highest temperatures are expected Saturday through Monday. There will be little relief overnight. NWS and local health authorities caution that there is extreme risk for heat-related illnesses to people and pets There are numerous Cool Centers and Hydration Centers available. locations are listed on the Imperial County Health Department website. It is suggested that you check on elderly or homebound neighbors to make sure they are safe.
